Minister of Trade and Industry Ahmed Samir highlighted major investment opportunities that could be utilized by international automotive firms, in light of Egypt’s strategy to localize the industry of electric vehicles and massive support offered to companies operating in this domain.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with delegation of Mercedes-Benz Egypt, under its President and CEO Gerd Bitterlich, to review the underway and future projects carried out by the company in the Egyptian market and probe export opportunities of the company to regional and international markets.
Samir said the Trade Ministry is keen on offering all forms of support to global automotive manufacturers to maintain and expand their activities in the Egyptian market, with a view to catering to the demands of the domestic market and export to external markets.
Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz CEO underlined that his company attaches great importance to expansion in the Egyptian market, which is deemed one of key markets in the Middle East and Africa.
